WOE Castles

To keep the wars challenging there are 3 castles open: Prontera, Payon and Aldebaran.

(This castle is "retro", no reborn or new jobs allowed)

Note: Castle are rotated about 4 times per year at GM's call. All castles retain their owner and eco at each rotation. The date of the rotation will be announced in advance.

WOE Rewards- Guild Dungeon and Number of Chests

Castle owner of any castle and their guildmates get access to all 4 guild dungeons, flip the switch and you will be offered a menu with all 4 dungeons choice.

In addition, the castles in Prontera and Payon (that is, WoE castles that allow trans classes) will allow access to the 2 new guild dungeons of arunafeltz and schaltzward.

Each castle also generates treasures, those appear in a special room accessible only to the castle owner (guild leader). Everyday a certain number of chest will appear.

The normal castles' treasures are calculated as follows:

(Economy/5) + 4 = Number of chest spawned. Number of chests spawned is rounded down to a whole number, with a cap eco of 100.

The retro castle's treasures are calculated as follows:

(Economy/6) + 2 = Number of chest spawned. Number of chests spawned is rounded down to a whole number, with a cap eco of 60.

The chests will be selected at random from all castle chests available (we wanted to ensure that our lower number of castles does not hinder access to any items.)

Economy can be raised by investing to the castle, a maximum of 2 investment per day is possible (can only be done by the guild leader).

Note: In the rare occurrence of a server crash or if a reboot occurs before you had time to pick up the treasures, chests will NOT be spawned back.

Statistical Analysis for items that only drop from 1 chest:

The chance of obtaining a 24% drop item within any one chest: 0.6%
The chance of obtaining a 6% drop item within any one chest: 0.15%
The chance of obtaining a 4.5% drop item within any one chest: 0.11%
The chance of obtaining a 3% drop item within any one chest: 0.075%
The chance of obtaining a tidal/wool/divine within any one chest: 0.45%
The chance of obtaining an odin's blessing within any one chest: 0.30%

To obtain the percentage of getting at least one of the drop item within one treasure chest session instead of per chest, use:

1-{[1-(chance of obtaining that item within one chest in percent)/100]^(number of chests you are expecting)}

eg: chance of getting valk shield if a castle owner has 10 chests

1-{[1-(0.075)/100]^10} = 0.74%

So castle owner has a 0.74% to get at least one valk shield in one night if his/her castle produces 10 chests. (this number is true for any equipment that drops at 3% here)

Big news! I'd like to announce the (re-)opening of Aldebaran castle on Sunday may 6th!

However, we decided to make this castle a little different from the 3 others. This castle will only allow first and second jobs, both normal and baby + super novice.

Are allowed:
Novice, baby novice, super novice and super baby.
Swordsman, Mage, Acolyte, Archer, Merchant, thief, and baby of same classes.
Knight, Crusader, Wizard, Sage, Priest, Monk, Hunter, Bard, Dancer, Blackmisth, Alchemist, Assassin, Rogue and baby of same classes.

That means, no reborn classes can enter, no new jobs (taekwon, star gladiator, soul linker or ninja/gunsligner).

The warp at the entrance of the castle will take care of letting in / keeping out classes that are allowed or not. Of course, the use of recall skill to get trans/new classes inside is forbidden!

I thought of making a baby-only castle as well, but I feel we do not yet have enough baby guild or baby player that woe to justify a castle only for them, if we eventually have more I'll consider it (in which case baby would no longer be permitted in the no-trans castle)

I think this should be a good news to newcomer or casual players, and it does not take anything away from veteran or hardcore levelers. ^_^

As a special event, GMs might be defending on sunday, with second jobs, 99 stats and normal equips (no GM clip), if we cant make it then castle is up for grabs!

Reopening of aldebaran castle is today, don't forget! And the GM team will be there to defend it, expect a challege!

Me and my buddy mjolnir and meginjard will be waiting for you all, along with GM-Chocolate and maybe GM-Hermes and GM-Auron! ^_^

GMs be level 99, with 99 all stats, No GM clip, but every other equip is allowed.

The Geffen Castle will be closed effective in today's WoE, Mar 25th. This will reduce heRO's WoE down to 2 trans castle of Prontera and Payon, with the retro castle of Aldebaran.

Prontera castle #2 was changed for Prontera castle #5.

Added information on the WOE chest content changes that we added in the recent SvN update.

Update 2009/11/29 -

A message from Pandora, the following changes to WoE take effect on 2009/12/06:

- Sunday Regular WoE changes from its 2 hour duration (2 to 4 PM*) to 1 hour duration (2 to 3 PM*), Wednesday time unchanged.
- The Retro WoE will from now on be from 4 to 5 PM* on Sunday only
- The Retro castle will have the following formula for economy: [Eco/6 +2] with a cap of 60
- The skill Guild Recall is no longer allowed in the Retro castle
- Upon entering the Retro castle the following skills will be dispelled: All Links, Wind Walk, Kaite, Kaizel, Kaahi, Kaupe, Assumptio and Mind breaker.
- All fish are disabled in GVG maps (which includes all WoE castles and the GVG type PVP room)
- Payon Flag moved closer to the main NPCs
- All flags inside a castle are now silent (wont display a text anymore)

WoE Castle rotation procedure change:

From now on the castle rotation will all be done at once, on a date determined by the GM team instead of the previous procedure where the castle owner decided individually. Such a date will be announced at least 1 week (2 WoEs) in advance, and all castle will be changed to a different one. We'll try to provide this rotation approximately every 6 months. Aldebaran castles will always be a retro castle, while the others will always be trans castle.

Changed castle will retain their owner and eco, therefor since all guild dungeons are available and chests are randomized the only thing that this affects is the castle layout.

The next castle rotation will be the first WoE of 2010, thus Sunday January 3rd
